 A Surprising Harvest at Good Deal Mini Farms: Early Successes in Sack Farming At Good Deal Mini Farms, we are constantly exploring innovative agricultural practices to enhance yields and optimize our operations. Recently, we experienced a significant milestone in our ongoing experiments with sack farming. In August 2024, we planted a yam seedling in a sack as part of our ongoing research and development initiatives. To our surprise, yesterday (January 31st, 2025), we harvested the seedling and discovered it had produced two distinct tubers. This unexpected outcome provides valuable insights into the potential of sack farming for yam cultivation. While the tubers may have grown larger with an earlier planting window (perhaps February or March, coinciding with the onset of the rainy season), this successful harvest demonstrates the viability of this approach.
